Privacy Policy

Effective date: 29 September 2026.

Erratum Solutions Pvt Ltd (“WatMark”, “we”, “us”) provides WatMark, a WhatsApp Business messaging platform for teams. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.

This policy applies to the WatMark website at https://watmark.com, the WatMark app for Android, the WatMark app for iOS, and the accounts, shared inboxes, campaigns, and related services those products provide.

Questions about this policy or your information: [email protected].

Who this policy covers

If you visit the website, create a WatMark account, or use the Android or iOS app as a member of a business team, we are responsible for the account and product information described in this policy.

If you message a business that uses WatMark on WhatsApp, that business decides why your conversation is kept. We process those messages so the business can use WatMark. For a request about that conversation, contact the business. You can also email [email protected] and we will pass the request to the account holder.

Information we collect

Account and team details you give us:

  • First and last name, work email, phone number, and company name when you start a trial or create an account
  • Names, roles, and contact details of team members the business adds
  • Login details used to keep the account signed in

WhatsApp and customer information needed to run the inbox:

  • WhatsApp Business phone numbers you connect
  • Message content, media, and delivery status for conversations on those numbers
  • Phone numbers and names of people who message the business, and contact details the team saves
  • Tags, notes, tasks, support tickets and employee-only notes, quick replies, templates, campaign recipient lists, catalog or payment-request details sent in a chat, and appointment services, staff hours, and bookings
  • Lead details synced from a Meta account you connect, such as a name and the fields submitted on a Facebook or Instagram lead form

Information collected from the Android app, the iOS app, and the website:

  • Device type, operating system, app version, language, and a push notification token so the apps can run and send alerts you turn on
  • IP address, the general region derived from that address, browser type, pages visited, referring page, and the date and time of the visit
  • Diagnostic logs used to keep the service secure and to fix failures
  • The contents of messages and attachments you send us by email, WhatsApp, or a form on the website

How we use information

We use this information to:

  • Create and operate your WatMark account on the website, Android, and iOS
  • Send and receive WhatsApp messages, campaigns, and templates through the WhatsApp Business Platform
  • Assign conversations, show team dashboards, and deliver notification alerts you enable
  • Draft reply suggestions and conversation insights when AI is turned on, for a person on your team to review before anything is sent
  • Sync Meta leads from an account you choose to connect
  • Provide support, prevent fraud and abuse, and protect the service
  • Understand how the website and apps are used, and improve WatMark
  • Send service messages and, where the law allows, product updates you can opt out of
  • Meet legal, tax, and accounting duties

How we share information

We share information only as needed to provide WatMark:

  • Meta Platforms and WhatsApp, because delivery, templates, phone numbers, and connected business assets run on the WhatsApp Business Platform. Meta’s policy is at https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/ and WhatsApp’s policy is at https://www.whatsapp.com/legal/privacy-policy
  • Service providers that host, secure, and support WatMark, and that may use the information only to do that work
  • Team members your business authorizes inside the same WatMark account
  • Software you connect through WatMark APIs or webhooks
  • Authorities or other parties when the law requires it, or when it is needed to protect WatMark, our users, or the public
  • A buyer or successor if the business is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice where the law requires it

We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for third-party advertising. The WatMark Android and iOS apps do not show third-party ads.

WhatsApp, Meta, and AI

Connecting a WhatsApp Business number uses Meta’s signup flow. Meta receives the permissions you approve. Those permissions can include your email, public profile, and permission to manage WhatsApp Business messaging and the connected business.

Message content is processed so your team can read, reply, assign, and campaign from WatMark. Meta processes the same messages under its own terms in order to deliver them on WhatsApp.

When AI suggestions are turned on, conversation history may be processed to draft a reply or an insight. A person on your team reviews it before it is sent. AI does not send messages by itself. You can turn AI off in Settings.

Cookies, logs, and device permissions

The website uses cookies and similar storage to keep pages working, remember preferences, and understand how the site is used. You can control cookies in your browser. Blocking cookies the site needs may limit some pages.

The Android and iOS apps do not use browser cookies. They store information on the device, such as a sign-in session and a push notification token, so the app can stay signed in and alert you.

The apps may ask for permission to send notifications, or to use the camera, microphone, photos, or files, when a feature you open needs that access. You can refuse a permission, or turn it off later, in Android or iOS settings. Message alerts, or attaching a photo you choose, will not work without the related permission.

How long we keep information, and how to delete an account

We keep information while the WatMark account is active. After the account is closed, or when the information is no longer needed to provide the service, we delete it or remove details that identify a person. We may keep a limited record where the law requires it, or where it is needed for security, billing, or a dispute.

To delete a WatMark account, email [email protected] from the email address on the account. Include the company name and the WhatsApp Business number connected to the account, and ask us to delete it.

We will delete the account and the conversation data, contacts, campaigns, and team access stored in WatMark, except for the limited records described above. Deleting a WatMark account does not delete a WhatsApp account, or information Meta holds under its own policy.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or limit certain processing, and to withdraw consent where we rely on consent.

If you are a California resident, you can ask us to disclose or delete personal information we hold about you. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Email [email protected] to use these rights. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. We may need to confirm that the request comes from you, or from someone authorized to act for you.

Children

WatMark is a business tool. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, email [email protected] and we will delete it.

Security and international processing

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including access limits inside a team account and encrypted connections to WatMark. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Erratum Solutions Pvt Ltd is based in India. Information may be processed in India and in other countries where we, our service providers, or Meta operate. Those countries may have data-protection laws that differ from the laws where you live.
